Nerja’s beaches have been awarded the ISO 9001 International Quality Certificate by the OCA Certification Institute in recognition of their standard of management. Nerja has received this award since 2008 and this year’s flags were officially handed over on Tuesday at a ceremony held at Burriana beach.
Several of Nerja’s beaches also have the prestigious Blue Flag award, which works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality; environmental education and information; environmental management and safety; and other services.
