Nerja Town Hall yesterday warned of a new scam (reported by 30 residents of the town) where elderly home owners are told that their water supply is contaminated. The scammers then fit unnecessary water filters and charge their victims over €1,000 for the work.
Aguas de Narixa (the local water supply company) assures residents of the high quality of the water supplied to local homes and businesses, “as evidenced by over 5,000 analytical tests performed per year in accredited laboratories.”
So the message is clear, there is no need for filters or carry out any other work to make your water supply safe.
