Rain interrupted last night’s Easter Procession in Nerja, when the oldest of Nerja’s fraternities Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno y la Virgen de la Esperanza (Our Father Jesus the Nazarene and the Virgin of Hope) were around two hours into their parade at midnight. This fraternity has been taking part in the Easter parades in Nerja for 219 years.
Despite last night’s rain, holidaymakers were out in force today taking advantage of the Easter sunshine on Nerja’s beaches. Tonight’s procession takes the same route as yesterday’s and starts at around 9.30pm at the El Salvador church on the Balcon.
