‘Love a Child’ is a foundation set up by John Margetson to support children from poor areas of the world, who are refugees, abandoned, abused, exploited or orphaned. The strict policy of the foundation is to be certain that all donations go directly to support the children and therefore great care is taken to vet all the people who might be responsible for the foundations funds.
The foundation currently has projects in India and Nepal with Tibetan refugee children, Burma and Ecuador.
Pocapecunia charity shop in Nerja was opened in December 2010 in Calle Bella Vista and sells clothes, books and other donated items at great prices. Although not owned by the Love a Child foundation, the proprietor Nicole gives all proceeds from sales to them.
Opening times are from 10.00am to 1.30pm Monday to Saturday.
The shop is desperately in need of good quality donations, paricularly CDs and DVDs and can be contacted on 645 179 071.
