A place in the Sun NerjaThe episode of the popular British TV series “A Place In The Sun” which was filmed in Nerja in October last year, was broadcast today (Friday 10th of January 2014) on Channel 4 TV.

The show’s presenter Sara Damergi, took recently divorced Rajula Jasani, with a budget of £100,000, to see various properties in the towns around Nerja (although none in Nerja itself), looking for a property with outside space and a pool, for her and her twin sons to use as a holiday property.

The first property they visited was a £117,000 two bedroom flat in Torrox Costa with a large terrace and a communal pool, let down by its location middway between Nerja and Torrox.

Next they moved inland to Torrox pueblo to look at a four bedroom village house ten minutes walk from the town’s main square again at an asking price of £117,000. The recently reformed townhouse has two roof terraces and was bought in 2007 for £150,000.

The next stop on the programme was to visit the natural park, before moving on to Frigiliana where they looked at a two bedroomed apartment at £107,000, built in 2003. This modern apartment with a communal pool and views down the valley towards Nerja and the sea was an immediate hit with Rajula.

A two bedroom village house in Los Romanes on the edge of Lake Vinuela, with spectacular views over the lake was the next property to be viewed at £99,000, but the dead quiet location proved too sleepy to be of interest.

Finally they returned to Frigiliana to look at another village house in need of refurbishment on the market for £96,000, with two bedrooms and roof terraces.

At the end of the episode Rajula was keen to make an offer on the modern apartment in Frigiliana, however it was sold by the time she had returned to the UK.

This episode of A Place In The Sun will be available to view for the next month at Channel 4’s 4OD when they add it to the list of available episodes 4OD.

The exchange rate used in the programme was €1.20 to the pound. The estate agents used in the programme were Edwards Estates, Team Espana and Villasol – contact details in our Nerja Estate Agents Guide.

Yes, you would think at the very least they could pronounce the name of the town they were supposed to be doing a programme about.
