The Spanish national newspaper El Mundo has included Nerja’s Burriana beach in its list of 10 of the best family beaches in Spain. The newspaper describes Burriana as being 800m long and sandy, with a chiringuito where you can get paella cooked on a wood fire. The paper makes reference to the 1980’s TV series Verano Azul which was filmed in Nerja, saying that the town is a “passport to your childhood”. The paper also mentions the “Ruta de Nerja Verano Azul” guided tour where visitors can be shown around the town by one of the stars of the series, Miguel Joven, who played Tito.
El Mundos list also includes Playa de Samil in Vigo and Playa del Inglés in Gran Canaria, with Burriana beach in sixth place.
Last week the ABC newspaper named Burriana in first place in its list of the 10 best beaches in the Costa del Sol.
