CanalSur TV has been filming in Nerja last week, for their series “Este es mi pueblo” (This is My Town). The show will be broadcast on Saturday the 15th of December 2012 at 4:45pm.
The programme, presented by Rafael Cremades, visits different towns in Andalucia to share their stories, customs, attractions, music and so on. The programme features locals talking about their towns and their experiences. Fliming took place last week from Monday onwards and various people were interviewed, including artists, musicians and one of Nerja’s most famous individuals, Miguel Joven from the hit Spanish TV series Verano Azul.
The show will also have a surprise in store for one Nerja local and will pay tribute to another. The singer Antonio Cortés will no doubt also feature in the programme, as he grew up in Nerja.
If you can get CanalSur TV the programme will be worth watching when it goes out and you will also be able to view it on the CanalSur TV website next week.

Muchas gracias GingerHound.
Just watched the programme. Even though I couldn’t understand lots of it, it brought back loads of lovely thoughts and memories. We’ll get Christmas and New Year out of the way and then in a few weeks we will be there again, sadly just too late for Carnaval and too early for Semana santa

I really like the series este es mi barrio which is on La Sexta – so the Canal Sur version will probably follow the same direction. Miguel Joven seems to be about all Nerja offers to TV programs, a bit like Manchester only having the Ken Barlow actor to front anything to do with the city (although at least Ken Barlow (cant be bothered to Google the actor’s name) still acts.
Anyway will be watching the show with great interest. Wonder what the surprises will be – maybe Joaquim the esparto weaver will be included, but I would prefer Alex offering his mad conspiracy theories about missing children and forced adoptions. Come to think of it I haven’t seen him for weeks, maybe the Guardia have kept him off the streets in case the TV crew got to know the truth.
