As usual during the festive period, the Nerja Cultural Centre has a full programme of events lined up, including children’s entertainment.
The Christmas programme starts on Sunday 1st of December 2013 at midday with La Carpa Teatro children’s theatre company performing “La Navidad en los Ojos de un Niño” (Christmas through the eyes of a child). The following Sundays (8th and 15th of December) La Carpa will be performing with the theatre workshops from local schools. Tickets are €4 and €3.
On Saturdays at midday there will be children’s films shown in the Cultural Centre with tickets priced at just €1.
On Monday 9th of December local choirs will be launching their new recording “Nuestra Navidad” (Our Christmas).
On Friday the 13th the Malaga Chamber Orchestra will be putting on a Christmas concert, including selections from the Nutcracker, and traditional Christmas pieces such as White Christmas and Silent Night.
Thursday and Friday the 19th and 20th of December the students from the Municipal School of Music and Dance are showing off their skills in various disciplines, including guitar, woodwind instruments and dance. These end of term performances are always popular with the public, hence the need for two separate nights.
On Saturday the 21st of December the Municipal Band are putting on their traditional Christmas concert, with a variety of different musical styles, including carols.
On Saturday the 28th of December the annual Benefit Gala in aid of the Taller de Amistad, with music, dance and choirs, all to help this very worthy local cause.
Finally on Sunday the 29th of December Nerja’s very own short film festival “Cortos de Vista” holds its eleventh edition, showing films made in and around Nerja.
All events are held in the Nerja Cultural Centre on Calle Granada in the centre of town.
