At 5pm on Saturday 15th of December there will be a performance of the popular Hans Christian Andersen book “La cerillera” (The Little Match Girl) accompanied by the Arena y Sal choir. The Little Match Girl is a story about a poor girl who is sent out to sell matches on the street one freezing New Years Eve. The event will take place in the doorway of San Miguel church in Plaza Andalucia square. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to the next day.
Activities will continue on the 21st, with the I Encuentro de Pastorales de las Protegidas also at 5pm The choirs from Peña Nerjeña, Centro de Día de Mayores, Coro Abanico de Ilusiones and Arena y Sal will take part.
On January the 4th from 4.30pm the Royal Postman will be visiting the neighborhood to take children’s letters for the Three Kings. All the children who take part will be given a small gift.
At 4pm there will be parade by the Nerja Bugle and Drum band and there will also be children’s entertainment and a raffle.
Plaza Andalucia is a small square well off the tourist track, in a residential area between Calle Los Huertos and the main road (see map below).
