The unsettled spring weather continues with a yellow alert in force today until 6pm, warning of the risk of heavy rain throughout the province. In Nerja the forecast predicts heavy mid-morning rain, with the possibilities of thunderstorms later. Yesterday’s forecasted rain failed to appear, with the sun coming out instead, but a cold wind kept the temperatures down.

Elsewhere in Andalucia, Cadiz and the area of the straights of Gibraltar are on orange alert with up to 80 litres per square metre of rain predicted to fall. In Granada the alerts are for snow rather than rain, with up to 2 centimetres of snow expected.

Throughout Spain there are a total of 27 provinces on yellow or orange alert for rain, snow or wind. The forecast for the week ahead shows unsettled conditions continuing over the weekend, but things improving on Monday with temperatures of 20C forecast here in Nerja.
