Spanish TV are once again this summer looking for the best beach in all of Spain and the beach at Maro is one of the candidates. Members of the public can vote for the best beach from each region and the winners go through to the final to be chosen as the best beach in Spain.
At the moment Maro is the only beach in Andalucia pictured in Antena 3’s competition and is praised for its natural state and crystal clear water, described as being “surrounded by cactus, pines and avocados”. You can vote for Maro via Twitter using the hashtags #Maro #lamejorplayadeAndalucía, and members of the public can also suggest other beaches to be considered. Last year’s winner was La Granadella in Javea.
Antena 3 were also out broadcasting live from Burriana beach yesterday (pictured) for their lunchtime news programme, reporting on the good weather in Nerja compared to other parts of Spain. As part of a team of five people from the station who came to Nerja to make the broadcast, Manuel Alvarez interviewed several people who were on the beach, commenting on the hot sunny conditions down at Burriana.
