Maro BeachMaro beach has come out on top as the best beach in Andalucia in the second phase of the competition being organised by Spanish Television’s Antena 3, to find the best beach in Spain. During July members of the public have been voting for their favourite beaches using Twitter and also on Antena 3’s website, with Maro being the winner from the shortlist of Andalucian beaches. It now joins 11 other finalists, one from each coastal region of Spain, to determine Spain’s best beach in voting which closes on the 30th of August.

Maro is currently leading the votes on the Antena 3 website, with 9370 votes. In second place the Cies Islands in Galicia, with their white sand and picture postcard looks, have 7856 votes and in third place La Granadella in Valencia has 7593 votes. La Hípica in Melilla is currently at the bottom of the table with just 1184 votes. Last year’s winner was La Granadella beach in Jávea, Alicante.
