The upmarket tapas bar, Mo Gastrotapas (near to the Villa Flamenca Hotel) has won this year’s Ruta de la Tapa (Tapas Trail) as voted for by the people who took part. Brasería Paco Mari (on Calle Cristo in the old town) came second and Tahona Holandesa third.
Finally Viejo Sótano (on Los Huertos) and Marissal (on the Balcon de Europa) made up the last of the top five out of the seventeen tapas bars taking part in the event which lasted the whole of May. For the promotion, each bar served a speciality tapa which customers could give a rating from one to five stars.
The winning establishments made a big effort to serve something special, whilst the ones at the bottom of the results served bizarre concoctions, such as cod in peanut sauce. In the opinion of MyNerja.com Mo Gastrotapas was a very deserving winner, as were the two runners up, and all three are worth making the effort to find. More pictures of the tapas are on our facebook page.
The winner of the prize draw of dinner for four was Margret Pteschukat.
Mar Bella, on Plaza Cavana, had the most visitors, with 122 votes cast.
