Nerja’s 2013 Christmas lights have been turned on, just in time for the long holiday weekend which starts tomorrow.
This year the council have come to an agreement with the local business association, who are providing 21 displays on Calle Cruz and Pintada in the centre of town. By working together in this way there will be more Christmas lights than in previous years, even though the council are spending almost €6,000 less than last year.
The lights have been installed by Illuminaciones Rivas, who gave the lowest bid for the work at €21,000. As well as the town centre lights, there are displays in Plaza Marina and Plaza España and on the roundabouts around the town.
