Nerja’s councillor for Urban Planning, Nieves Atencia, is hoping to turn a building on Calle Animas in the centre of Nerja, into a new social-cultural centre. The building and grounds, which are over 600m2 in size is located at numbers 15 and 15-A on this narrow street just off Calle Pintada and used to be an oil mill and later a car workshop.
According to Nieves Atencia, due to its location in the centre of the town, close to the museum and the cultural centre, the building is of great interest to the council to be put to this new use.
The property is currently designated for residential use in the town plan and the proposal to change this use will be made in Friday’s council session.
