Tonight’s Good Friday procession takes place around the streets of Nerja starting at 9.30pm from the Church on the Balcon de Europa returning several hours later to the same place. Although there is a possibility of rain late in the afternoon, the forecast looks like it should be clear for the procession itself with warm temperatures of up to 18C.
The full route of the procession of Santo Entierro is as follows: Puerta del Mar, Pintada, Cantarero, Mendez Nunez, Bronce, Angustias, Ermita, Granada, Cavana, Carmen and the Balcon de Europa.
The final procession of this years Semana Santa takes place on Easter Sunday and starts at midday from the Balcon de Europa and takes a longer route around town before arriving back at the Balcon many hours later. The current forecast shows heavy rain for Sunday afternoon, though of course this may change as we get closer to the time.
Sunday’s route: Puerta del Mar, Pintada, Arropiero, Huertos, Frigiliana, Carretas, Pintada, Angustias, Ermita, Granada, Carmen and the Balcon de Europa. The map below shows the starting point for both processions.
