Nerja Municipal Belen Nativity SceneNerja council’s traditional nativity scene (or Belen) is open to visitors every day from 6pm to 9pm at number 14 Calle Cristo in the old part of town.

This year’s Belen has been created by members of the Hermandad de El Cautivo, who describe their nativity scene as “original and different”.

The Belen was officially opened with a performance by the “Abanico de ilusiones” choir, who performed various carols. Sandra Jimena, the councillor for popular traditions thanked the Hermandad de El Cautivo for their work and invited everyone to come and visit the nativity scene.

Also present during the opening were the Mayor of Nerja, various councillors and the priest from El Salvador church, where another nativity scene is on display, again created by the Hermandad de El Cautivo.
