Nerja police have today revealed how they captured a stray Iguana on the loose in the town. Worried residents of an apartment block in Calle Solana, reported that there was a 60cm Iguana in the pool area of their building.

A unit from the Environmental Health department was despatched and took the lizard into custody. No one has come forward to claim the iguana and it is currently being held by the town hall.

Iguanas are herbivorous lizards native to tropical areas of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and are popular as pets.
