Nerja Residents Day 2014 is on today, Sunday the 27th of April 2014, from midday until 7pm. Residents Day is held in Plaza España behind the Ayuntamiento builiding by the Balcon de Europa.
There will be the usual mix of live entertainment on the big stage, a total of forty local associations providing stalls and information on their activities, as well as refreshments and typical food from the different countries represented. One of the highlights of the entertainment will be the Municipal Band performing live at the start of the event, followed by more music and dancing throughout the afternoon.
This year’s event will be bigger than 2013’s, when 33 associations took part and the number could increase further as more associations register for the day.
Nerja’s councillor for Residents, Inocencia Quintero, has pointed out that nearly a third of the town’s population are from other countries and that the Dial del Residente celebrates all these different nationalities living together in Nerja.
