The Costa del Sol Tourist Board has opened a new tourist information office in Nerja, directly opposite the existing Tourist Information office opposite the church on the Balcon de Europa.

The new office space has been donated free of charge to the board by Nerja council. The new office will promote tourism throughout the Costa del Sol/Axarquia region.

The president of Malaga County Council said that Nerja, “is a banner for the Costa del Sol”, which has more than 7,000 hotel rooms and is home to 170,000 tourists a year with more than 740,000 overnight stays. Additionally Nerja has the most visited natural attraction in the province, the Nerja Caves, which has around 400,000 visitors annually.

The office was opened as part of the Dia de Malága 2012 celebrations, which takes place today and continues tomorrow April 26th at the Nerja Caves.
