The Norwegian painter Otto Solli has handed over a cheque for €1,600 to Nerja’s Taller de la Amistad charity. The money was raised from the sale of the artist’s paintings at an exhibition held in the town’s exhibition rooms on Calle Cristo.
This is the second time that Otto Solli has raised money for charity in this way. He also donated one of his works to Manolo Villalón (pictured) who is well known in the town.
Nerja’s councillor for Education and Culture, Germa Garcia, thanked Otto Solli for donating his works for the second time, as did the President of the Taller de la Amistad, Cristina Fernández. President Fernández said the donation was especially welcome at this time due to the lack of funds from the Junta de Andalucia.
The Taller de la Amistad provides education, training, leisure and other services for disabled residents of Nerja from all age groups. As we have reported previously, the centre is owed payments from the Junta de Andalucia dating back as far as 2009, a situation that has caused local residents to come out and demonstrate against this shortfall on the streets of Nerja.
