The heavy rain that has been falling over most of Spain found its way down to Nerja in time for Christmas Day. The rain is forecast to continue until the evening, being at its heaviest around lunchtime, along with windy conditions. Temperatures are set to be mild, peaking at no more than 16°C or 17°C in the afternoon.
The sun should come out again in time for Boxing Day, although still windy, temperatures should be a little lower at 16°C. The unsettled weather looks likely to continue into the weekend, with a cold New Year’s Eve forecast for next week.
The next event planned over the Christmas period is a party in Plaza Tutti Frutti on Saturday the 28th of December from 1pm. There will be live music, free “migas”, reasonably priced drinks and you can also bring donations for a food bank (non-perishable food only).
On New Year’s Eve there will be the usual celebrations on the Balcon de Europa from 11pm with live music and fireworks.
The Royal Postman will be collecting letters for Father Christmas on the 3rd of January at the Balcon at 5pm and handing out gifts and sweets to the children.
On the 5th of January Los Reyes (the Three Kings) will parade through the streets of Nerja starting from Parque Verano Azul at 5pm, to celebrate the arrival of Spanish Christmas.
