The first of the Costa Animal Society’s two annual dog shows, Scruffs Torrox, will be held at the Andale Riding Centre in Torrox on Saturday May 26. Dogs can be registered from 1.00pm with judging in 11 classes beginning at 2.00pm. Entry is five euros per dog per class, with prizes in each class. Once again, the international portrait painter Heather Harmen will donate a free portrait of the Pedigree Best in Show.
It will be a family day out, as usual, with stalls and refreshments available. Stall places are available on application to CAS. This will be the first time that Scruffs has been held in Torrox and CAS is grateful for the support shown by the Andale Riding Centre.
To find the Centre, see the map and directions below. There will be signposts on the day of the show along the route.
Scruffs Torrox will include the following classes:
1. Pedigree Puppy (under one year)
2. Non Pedigree Puppy (under one year)

The Costa Animal Society wishes it to be known that the proposed Scruffs Dog Show to be held at the Pavo Real in Cómpeta during May no longer has any association with CAS for reasons beyond the control of the charity.
How To Get To The Andale Riding Centre
Exit the N-340 coast road onto the MA-5105 Nerja to Frigiliana road. At the second roundabout take the (3rd) exit signed ‘La Noria’.
Take the second right turn following the sign ‘Viveros Torres’ and follow the road round but do not go under the motorway. Follow the ’Cortijo de Carmen’ signs. Turn left and cross the river then turn right and after 20 metres take the left road and pass under the motorway, still following the Cortijo de Carmen signs.
Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometre until it passes back under the motorway, turn right and the stables are the second gate on the left.
