This years Day of the Tourist will take place on the 5th of September 2012. The event takes place on the Balcon de Europa and is designed to show local appreciation towards visitors.
The events start at midday, when Pastora Soler will be officially named as Tourist of Honour 2012. Pastora Soler was Spain’s entry in this years Eurovision Song Contest.
At 1pm the exhibition of 16th to 19th century Russian icons owned by the Faustino Orbegozo Eizaguirre Foundation will be opened at the Nerja Museum. The exhibition will be on from September the 5th until September the 28th during the museum’s normal operning hours.
At 8pm on the Balcon de Europa there will be live music and dancing with the Dance School of Elena and the Cuban Band: “Yamila y los locos de la Habana”.
The night will end with fireworks on the Balcon.
On last years Tourist Day, Miguel Joven, who played Tito in the TV series Verano Azul, was named as the Tourism Ambassador and the evenings performance was by the Georgia State Ballet Company.
