A 47 year old man was rescued by the emergency services on Sunday, whilst out walking in the natural park near to the Nerja Caves.
The man, who has not been identified, was walking along the path that runs to the pico del Cielo mountain, when he suffered a dislocated shoulder.
A member of the public called the 112 Andalucian Emergency number who despatched the fire brigade, Guardia Civil, local police, Proteccion Civil and the ambulance service to rescue the casualty.
The incident took place around 2pm on Sunday and a unit from the Proteccion Civil were able to move the man to a more accessible place, where he was treated by the ambulance crew, before being transferred to the regional hospital in Velez-Malaga.
