Marina Del Este is a small recreational marina a few miles to the east of Nerja, between La Herradura and Almuñécar. There are a few bars and restaurants in the marina, plus a mini-market and a couple of shops. There is also a small beach just around the corner from the marina with a beach restaurant/bar. The marina itself has parking for berth holders and there are two small car parks for visitors, both of which get very crowded in the summer months.
For boat owners, the marina has all the services you would expect, including a fuel berth, boat hoist (up to 6m), chandlers, mechanics, hardstanding etc. Berths are not cheap, with a 8m x 3m berth costing €10 a day in winter, rising to €24 a day from March to November (2012 prices plus VAT). The marina opens out to Almuñécar bay with La Herradura round the corner to the west and then on to the natural park (although anchoring is prohibited within the park boundaries, many ignore this prohibition).
