Members of the Guardia Civil intercepted an illegal shipment of 1.5 tonnes of cannabis on Playa El Morche, just outside of Torrox, on Sunday night. The Guardia Civil patrol had spotted an unlit boat approaching the coast, and lay in wait for it to land.
On board were four Moroccan nationals (who live in different towns in Malaga province) and the cargo of drugs. All four were arrested and charged with alleged crimes against public health.
In total the Guardia Civil seized 55 bales of cannabis from the 6 metre long boat.
