The Mayor Of Nerja has announced that the project for the construction of the new water treatment plant will be put out to tender with a budget of €40,581,298.26 plus VAT, with a completion date of 2015.
Before the tender can be published it first has to be approved by the government auditor, have a favorable inspection report, have the contract approved by the Attorney General and also be approved by the Secretary of State for the Environment. Both the tender contract documents and the tender procedure have to be approved by the Government.
The Mayor expects that the tender will be published in the official government gazette “at the end of next week on Thursday or Friday”.
Once that statement is published the Council will form a working group chaired by the mayor which he says will “track almost daily this important Nerja project”.
The mayor held a meeting on February 14th in Madrid with the Secretary of State, Federico Ramos, to gain his backing for this project.
The Andalucian elections are in three days time, on March 25th.
