The groundwork for the new centre (behind the Mercadona) was completed more than a year ago at a cost of around €300,000 and is currently being used as a free car park, due to the technicality that there is in fact no planning permission in place for any of the proposed works.
Armijo explained to the Sur newspaper, that this is all the fault of the junta who are “mareando la perdiz” – i.e. making the partridge feel dizzy. The partridge in question is the classification of the land as the junta has still not approved the change of use which would allow the medical centre to be built.
