The 15th Season at the Nerja Cultural Centre starts this month with La Peña Nerjeña and the presention of their new album ”Cositas de mi Nerja” in a sound and light show, on Friday 21st of September at 9pm. Entrance is free and you will also be able to purchase the CD in the intermission for €5.
The music includes Sevillanas, rumbas and carols dedicated to the town of Nerja, composed by Francis Barranquero Portillo, choir director, Salvador Gil Benitez, who created another piece dedicated to Nerja, “Nerja por los senderos” (Nerja on the trails) and Conde Salvador from Vélez Malaga.
On Saturday 22nd of September at 9pm there is a performance of “La vida es sueño” (Life is a Dream) by the theatre company Deucalion. It is a loose adaptation, with humor, of the work of Calderon de la Barca. Entrance to this performance is also free, with tickets available from 7pm.
This years season is starting a month earlier than normal, due to an expanded programme, which will include all the usual events such as Nerjadanza, Nerjazz, the Flamenco Festival, and Imagine, as well as new ones such as Nighthawks, which aims to bring young people to the Cultural Center with fun entertainment from eleven at night.
