AlhambraThe Andalucian regional government has announced a relaxation of the covid restrictions that have been in place here in Nerja since Christmas. The biggest change is we are now allowed to travel anywhere within Andalucia, so once again we can visit the Alhambra (pictured) in Granada or neighbouring Almunecar, or anywhere else in the region.

The new rules starting on Thursday the 29th of April 2021 are:-

  • Travel is now permitted anywhere within Andalucia (previously we were restricted to our own provinces).
  • Bars and restaurants can now open until 11pm (previously 10.30pm) indoors and outdoors.
  • Groups of up to six people can meet in bars/restaurants outdoors and four people indoors (no change).
  • Curfew continues between 11pm and 6am (no change).
  • Additional restrictions will be put in place on towns with high infection levels.
  • Andalucia continues to be closed to travel from other autonomous communities, although international visitors can continue to arrive by plane subject to the national restrictions.
  • Mask wearing continues to be compulsory in public, except when eating or drinking.
