Woolly And Tig Balcon de EuropaThe BBC are in Nerja filming an episode titled “Hola” of the CBeebies series Woolly and Tig, starting on the Balcon de Europa with Nerja’s Municipal Dance School (pictured).

The show takes the form of short, five-minute live action dramas about a three year old girl and her toy spider. The dramas explore the feelings that children have when faced with new experiences. For the episode being filmed in Nerja, the show looks at the experience of going abroad on holiday for the first time, meeting and playing with other children who don’t speak English and trying different types of food.

Tig and her father are played by real-life daughter and father Betsy and Colin McCredie. The on-screen mother is played by Jenny Ryan, Betsy’s real-life aunt. The narrator of the series is Betsy’s older sister, Maisie.

As well as the Balcon de Europa, the episode is being filmed in a hotel, the streets of Nerja and various beaches and has the co-operation and assistance of Nerja council itself, who are keen to encourage the use of the town as a location for many different types of TV and film productions.
