The Coral Alminares de Nerja Choir and the Orquesta de Cámara Promúsica de Málaga Orchestra are putting on a benefit concert this Sunday, the 16th in the El Salvador church on the Balcon de Europa, Nerja at 6pm. They will be performing Vivaldi’s Gloria and visitors will be invited to make donations in aid of Caritas (the Catholic humanitarian aid and international development charity).
The concert will be repeated on the 20th in Malaga Cathedral, with the proceeds going to Manos Unidas.
The evening will start with the Orquesta Infantil Promúsica de Málaga followed by the Joven Orquesta Promúsica de Málaga. In the second part the orchestra and choir will perform “Gloria” by Vivaldi, with the participation of soloists Mari Carmen Vicente and Estela Vicente, under the direction of José Eugenio Vicente Tellez.
The Councillor for Eduacation and Culture, Gema Garcia has said that this concert is one of the most important in the Christmas calendar of events not only because of those participating, but also due to the quality of the performance.
