To celebrate International Dance Day 2014, which is on today, Tuesday 29th of April, there will be two free events on in Nerja. At 6pm on the Balcon de Europa there will be a performance by the Municipal Dance and Music School.

At 8.30pm in the Cultural Centre the Fernando Hurtado company are putting on “Charlie” a family spectacular which won a prize at the European Theatre Festival For Children.

International Dance Day was introduced in 1982 by the International Dance Council CID (Conseil International de la Danse), a UNESCO partner NGO, and is celebrated on April 29 every year – the day when a French dancer and balletmaster Jean-Georges Noverre was born. The main purpose of Dance Day events is to attract the attention of the wider public to the art of dance.
