Nerja council have announced the schedule of events for this years International Women’s Day. The events will start on Wednesday March the 7th with a conference in Maro, from five in the afternoon at the hotel Playamaro.

On Thursday the 8th (International Women’s Day itself), at 12 noon in the Municipal Library Nerja, there will be a poetry reading called “Putting a voice to women’s words.”

At half past one, in the council hall, there will be an official ceremony with the reading of a manifesto. At 6pm, at the Centro Cultural Villa de Nerja there will be a performance of the play “single woman” – free admission with invitation.

The activities will continue on Sunday the 11th with the 2nd Popular March for Equality, departing at 12:30pm from the Plaza Espana (behind the town hall). At half past five, the Cultural Center will be screening the movie “No Reservations” again with free admission.

On Sunday the 18th there will be another screening at the Centro Cultural Villa de Nerja, also with free admission at half-past five. This time you can see the film “embroidery”.

Finally on Thursday the 22nd, from five in the evening at the Centro Giner de los RĂ­os will be holding a conference “New challenges and opportunities in institutions of crisis.”
