Residents of Nerja and its surrounding area will be able to enjoy the eleventh edition of “Lorca y Granada en los Jardines del Generalife”, a unique Granada cultural event, which takes place in the gardens of the Generalife at the Alhambra.
This year’s event is a double-bill spectacular will combine an homage to Lorca along with an ode to the flamenco world. In the world premiere of Garcia Lorca’s work “Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías”, choreographer and director Rubén Olmo presents his admiration for Granada and one of Spain’s favourite sons, Federico García Lorca.
“Metáfora Flamenca”, choreographed by Rubén Olmo specifically for the Flamenco Ballet of Andalucia, explores the human condition of inquiry, curiosity and exploration through romances, tangos and bulerías. The Flamenco Ballet of Andalucia will return to the Alhambra stage with special guest performers Antonio Canales and Pastora Galván, and will also introduce some brand new talent to seasoned audience members.

Coach Trips
There are also two coach trips being organised by the Nerja Cultural Centre on Friday 27th July and Saturday 25th August.
The trip ticket includes the Lorca y Granada event ticket and return coach transportation from Nerja. The coach leaves the Verano Azul Parking at 18.00.
Tickets are 30€ and are available at La Tienda or “Jimmy’s” immediately across from the Nerja Post Office, and Clinica Santa Cecilia, Calle Los Huertos, 46.
