Today (Saturday 9th of February 2013) is the big day of the Carnival with the Grand Parade with the fancy dress and the marching bands.
The Parade starts at Calles Jaen and Chaparil at around 5pm and heads along Avenida Castilla Pérez, Diputación, Granada, Plaza de la Ermita, San Miguel, Plaza de Cantarero, Pintada, Puerta del Mar and ending at the townhall and Plaza de España. Click on our Carnival map below to see the route.
The Carnival Ball then takes place in the Marquee in Plaza de España (behind the townhall at the Balcon de Europa) and at 9pm the Carnival winners will be announced.
The final day of the Carnival is tomorrow, Sunday, with a fancy dress competition for pets at Plaza de España in the morning, followed by the Burial of the Sardine in the evening – not to be missed. See our Carnival guide for full details.
