Nerja’s beaches councillor Nieves Atencia has announced that the council have purchased a new tractor to be used for cleaning and maintenance of the towns beaches. The €68,000 cost of the new vehicle has been funded by the council and it will join two other vehicles in the beach maintenance department; consisting of another tractor and a sieving machine.
Counciller Atencia stated that the new tractor will help improve the quality of the beaches in the municipality. She also revealed that the council are carrying out improvement works, replacing the beach showers, initially at Burriana. The new showers will have non-slip bases, replacing the old wooden decking.
