Over the next few days, Nerja is going to be the backdrop for two different film shoots, using the streets and beaches of the town. The first is for a fashion catalogue and the second a TV commercial for a multinational corporation.
For the commercial, the team will consist of around 40 people, including two actors playing a mother and her child. Filming is due to start in the next few days.
For the fashion catalogue shoot, for a French company, the team will be made up of six people, including the technicians and models.
Last year Nerja was the scene for twelve different film and TV productions, including filming for a Bollywood musical, and the council claim that 2013 is likely to be just as busy, judging by the applications they have so far received. The films for the hugely popular Cortos de Vista short film festival, now in its tenth year, are also made in and around Nerja and still images from the festival are currently on display in the foyer of the Nerja Cultural Centre until the end of the month.

The Balcon de Europa was the set for a film sequence being made for a Bollywood film production today. The scenes on the Balcon involved a white stretch limo, watched by a small crowd of curious onlookers, who had stopped off on their way from the beach.
The filming will continue on Saturday in the streets of Nerja old town and also in a private house.
More footage will be shot in the coming days in Malaga and Seville.
