This year’s Nerja Contemporary Dance Festival – NerjaDanza – got underway this morning under a cloud filled sky, with performances by Anuska Alonso (pictured) and Rocco Vermuis. The concept of NerjaDanza is to make contemporary dance accessible to new audiences, by performing both in the theatre and out on the streets.
Anuska Alonso performed her piece Quando Corpus and Rocco Vermius, Choreographed by Angela Lampiranidou, performed Trust in front of a large crowd on the Balcon de Europa.
The street performances will take place every day until Saturday on the Balcon de Europa at 1pm, and there are theatre performances at the Nerja Cultural Centre in the evenings on the 26th and 27th.
I-Fen Tung from Taiwan will close the festival with the piece “How To Say” chosen as the best work at the Young Stars Programme of the Taiwan National Foundation of Culture and Arts.
