Nerja Council have announced plans to improve the lighting around the cliffs at Calahonda beach at the Balcon de Europa.
The budget for the project will be around €90,000 and according to the Councillor for beaches Nieves Atencia, the council has asked Malaga County Council for help with the funding.
Nieves Atencia says that with the new illumination visitors and locals will be able to enjoy the view of the cliffs from the Balcon de Europa at night as well as during the day. The Balcon de Europa is one of the most popular attractions in Nerja, especially during the night time during the summer months.
The Councillor has also claimed that funding is needed from the County Council “owing to the massive reduction of funding from the Junta de Andalucia”.
