According to TripAdviser, Nerja is the fourth most searched for holiday rental destination in Spain, behind only Barcelona, Madrid and Marbella. This is an increase of one place compared to data published in March, when Nerja came behind San Sebastian.
The full 10 top of the destinations are: Barcelona, Madrid, Marbella, Nerja, Playa de las Americas (Tenerife), Playa Blanca (Lanzarote), Valencia, San Sebastian (Donostia), Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote) and Seville. This again confirms that tourists come to Spain for “sun and beach” holidays with Andalucia and the Canary Islands the most popular regions.
When it comes to nationalities the British prefer mainly Barcelona, Playa Blanca (Lanzarote), Playa de las Americas (Tenerife), Nerja and Marbella (Malaga). The Irish also opt for Barcelona, Nerja, Marbella and Playa de las Americas and also Puerto del Carmen.
Meanwhile, Americans have among their preferences Sant Carles de Peralta (Balearic Islands), L’Hospitalet de l’Infant (Catalonia) and Zahara (Cádiz), while Canadians choose Barcelona, Madrid, Marbella, Malaga and Sevilla. However, Australians are choosing holiday rental properties in San Sebastian (Donostia) and Granada.
