Guadalupe Acosta has won today’s Dulces de Navidad Competition, for the second year in a row. Her winning entry was an elaborate cake titled “Puesto de leña” which recreated a winter scene of a firewood seller in miniature with everything in it edible.
The runner up was Paloma García with a traditional roscos (round cake), whilst third place was taken by Carotta Kety with another elaborate dessert, entitled “Paisaje de montaña” (mountain landscape).
The competition (organised by Nerja Council) was held under the arches on the Balcon de Europa, where locals and tourists alike were able to see the cakes, before sampling them at the end of the contest.
The judges said that they had a hard time choosing the winner of the competition, given the high standards of the entries.
