Nerja council have announced that they have awarded the contract to install new lighting at the Balcon de Europa and also claim that the work will start this week.
The new lighting will use low energy LED and conventional bulbs and will be embedded in the ground, to illuminate the Balcon’s walls on both sides.
The total budget for the project is almost €90,000, with an additional €8,000 for other improvements. The work is planned to take three months.
Nerja’s mayor José Alberto Armijo welcomed the new project saying that the lighting will be a tourist attraction, improving the image of Nerja and the Balcon de Europa and its surroundings.
