Dona Lola’s has it all for me great food atmosphere & wonderful staff, not forgetting the wonderful location!!!
Many of the bars in Nerja offer free tapas however in most cases you need to sit at the bar. Not everyone wants to have several drinks so paying a small amount for them means you can eat what you fancy with only one drink, or even a coffee great value!!
The owners make everyone welcome this is my favourite place in Nerja x

When you pay for a tapa, it is usually only a small payment for a better tapa. I am happy to do that for something that they just couldn’t provide free.

It seems to me that, as usual, the English whinge so much! Whinge that they do not get a free tapas! Providing that this establishment is good, then why whine about paying a euro more? I have never been there but they do need to earn a living. Do you really want everything for nothing? If so, continue on your miserable free tapas run and later on disgust the price of sausages from your local supermarket! How sad is that?

Norman, if you want to pay €2.60 for a small beer and a tapas then please do, but the rest of us will continue to pay €1.40 for the same thing somewhere else.

Norman, I entirely agree with you. Where in the UK would you be able to go to a pub have a small beer and expect tapas for under a pound? As for having not been there before I would suggest that at your next opportunity pay a visit, the food is great and you are made welcome, something else you mmay have a struggle with in the UK.

There is now a tapas bar on Burriana!
El Rey de la Tapas is situated in the premises that used to be All That Jazz, and it is the last (at present) occupied locale, at the eastern end of the strip.
Excellent tapas served with every drink, at no charge.
Drink prices are reasonable too, cheaper than a number of other establishments in the area, and there is an excellent menu with over 80 dishes to choose from.
Antonia’s daily specials have also become a firmly established feature here, and if the Choto (baby goat) is shown on the board, don’t miss it!

Staying with the traditional Spanish bars .. Let the ‘tourists’ pay the extra for tapas! x

Why would I pay for tapas when there are so many excellent places to visit who serve it for free?
