Reading some reviews esp. that of David Jackson speaking of loud-mouth tatooed girls spoiling atmosphere … was that during the HIGH season ie. August ??

Dunno if it’s open Mid-season but it may be better then? Just a suggestion.
I went here in the late 80s and mid-90s when it was less touristy / commercialised and had a fab time. Lots of spanish locals, clapping, flamenco and the Midnight singing to the ‘Virgin’ …

If I come to Nerja 2018 it will probably be in September/early October !!!

Great anticipation, but awful reality. €12 for 2 small beers and 2 tiny glasses of awful wine, served ungraciously by unfriendly and unsmiling staff. The only flamenco dancers were a pair of screaming little English girls with adoring and nicely tattooed parents. Bring back Papagayo.

Visited this bar on Saturday. Fantastic atmosphere! Almost enchanted…Guitar music started at 10. At around 11:30 the at was full of locals and tourists.
Audience participates and interacts with the artist. Keep in mind, there is no food there. Drinks only! Go and you will have the best evening of your life.
It might easy be the highlight of your stay in Nerja!

Probably the best sevillanas/rumbas guitar music bar in town: live music and live dancing. Great atmosphere, great guitarists/singers! Audience participation obligatory!

Une bonne ambiance, deux chanteurs authentiques, un cadre merveilleux, merci pour les soirees que vous nous offrez. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas, la visite est obligatoire pour respirer l andalousie.

    visited on saturday in May.
brilliant evening, great atmosphere, heaving, helped by 2 (spanish) hen parties. everyone singing their heads off. 2 singer/guitarists alternate. liked change from pure flamenco. no snacks though. visited a few days later, much quieter.

Has this bar changed hands, there is new opening hours and tapas now available. Prices have come down also, hopefully this will make the bar as popular as it was 5 yrs ago when it was one of the best bars in town

Does anybody know the name of the song the bar-staff sings every night at noon? They used to sing it a few years ago: haven’t been there for about 3 years.

I have been frquenting El Molino for about 4 years now whenever we visit Nerja. I must say that on my last visit I was quite disappointed. I got in just before midnight on a Friday and there could not have been more than 20 people in. I feel that the music is now quite predictable and samey, the drinks rediculously overpriced (3 euros for a small beer or a crappy glass of wine) and the service is aweful.
Shame because i used to love it
