Dont be put off by your first impression of this place. It is dark and maybe dirty and not very welcoming with strange smells, but if you call in when the musicians and singers are there you will have a great time. I think it is probably as near to flamenco music as you will find anywhere else in Nerja.
You can also get a variety of shisha or hookahs if thats your thing.

Wandered in this bar one night and apart from the lady behind the bar there were only 4 other people in there. At first it seemed a bit rough & dodgy………next news a young French Gypsy lad started messing with a battered guitar and a Spanish woman started to sing, they were absolutely amazing the two of them………..I bought a round of drinks & the impromptu session got better & better. Later found out these two Gypsies were named Paca & Garbanzo & were playing a gig the night after. Brilliant night had at the Teteria listening to Flamenco in surroundings of vivid ambient colours………….made my holiday guys X

The best place in Nerja for a late night drink you never know who might turn up to play music, always a chilled out atmosphere with spanish and foreign mixing together for a great and friendly night.

We found this great bar tucked away, it was so chilled out we came back a few nights during our holiday. Lots of locals but we still felt very welcome. Great food too, I had the veggie meze -perfect!
