More than thirty different groups and associations will be exhibiting in this year’s Residents’ Day 2012 which will take place on Sunday 29th April in Plaza de España between 12 and 7pm.

There will be the usual mix of live entertainment on the big stage, local associations providing stalls and information on their activities, as well as eight bars serving drinks and typical food from the different countries represented. The day will start with a performance by the town’s Municipal Band.

The Councillor for Residents, Innocence Quintero has emphasised the importance of foreign residents in Nerja, who account for thirty percent of the population, with over 60 different nationalities. She also noted that one of the objectives of Resident’s Day, which has been held for twelve years in the town, is “that there is a bringing together of all Nerja residents, both local and foreign, who have decided to choose our town as place to live. ”
