Nerja’s municipal library “Salvador Rueda” has expanded its range of books on offer with 333 new titles, taking the total to more than 15,000. The library is also planning to purchase further titles, taking into account suggestions from its users.
The library, in Plaza de la Ermita near to the Mercadona on the west side of Nerja, has nearly 4,000 members.
Last year more than 25,000 used the library with 700 books lent out during July. The library is free to join – just take along your passport, residency papers or identity card if you have one.
During the summer months you can also borrow books and magazines from Nerja’s two beach libraries, “Biblioplayas”, at Torrecilla and Burriana beach. The small blue and white kiosks have been lending books and games to beach goers for eleven years – to borrow from the beach libraries you need a library card, or an identity document such as your passport.
