Work is due to start soon in two rural areas of Nerja. Three crossings will be built in the Rio Seco and the Camino de Viltor (in the Rio de la Miel to the east of Nerja) will be resurfaced. The total cost for the projects is over €200,000 and the work is due to be complete within three months.
In the Rio Seco the new crossings will be located at three points on the river – one just to the north of the motorway, in the area known as Cortijo Victoria; one close to the service road for the motorway and the third near to the Camino de Enmedio. This work will cost around €92,000.
The resurfacing of the Camino de Viltor will cost €120,000 and will take place once the Río de la Miel resurfacing is finished, covering a kilometre in total.
The Rio Seco river runs down the valley at the western end of Nerja, emerging on El Playazo next to the Marinas de Nerja hotel and despite its name (Dry River) often flows strongly in the winter months, making crossing the river difficult for residents and farmers in the area.
